This package was handled and stored in an environment which might containinactive phosphorescent pigment.
Wipe tests might show high counting rates in LSC caused by luminescent effect and are not caused by radioactive contamination!
For a reliable determination of H-3 / C-14 surface contamination, the counting vials have to be stored for at least 30 hours in complete darkness prior to LSC measurement. Values are reliable once luminescence reaches values below 5%.
To test for the phosphorescence pigment related luminescence effect please compare count rate after 1 hour and after 5 hours in complete darkness. This leads to a strong decrease of count rate and luminescence.
